Floors in the Denver area take a lot of stress: dry winters, seasonal swings in humidity, pets, kids, furniture and the occasional leak. Many problems can be repaired without replacing the whole floor, from individual damaged boards and deep scratches to squeaks, loose planks and areas that have cupped or lifted. The right fix depends on what caused the damage, so we look at the cause as well as the symptom.
Water is a common culprit, especially in basements, kitchens and under older appliances. If boards have cupped, stained or buckled, the moisture source should be found and dried before any repair, or the problem returns. In winter, small gaps between boards are often seasonal and not a defect, and we will tell you honestly when a repair is not needed.
Repairs also have to blend in. Matching species, color and sheen to older floors takes care, and some repairs are best finished with a localized or full-room refinish so the patch does not stand out. We explain the options and the trade-offs at the estimate.

Often yes. Individual boards can be cut out and replaced, then blended with the surrounding floor, and a light refinish of the area helps the repair disappear. Matching age, species and color determines how seamless it looks.
Squeaks usually come from boards rubbing on nails or the subfloor, and seasonal dryness in Colorado can make them more noticeable. Depending on access, we can often fasten loose areas from above or below to quiet them.
Sometimes. If the wood has dried and the moisture source is fixed, mild cupping may flatten and can be sanded. Severe damage may need board replacement, so we assess moisture and the extent of the damage first.
Not usually. Gaps often open in Denver's dry winter air and partly close in more humid months. Wide or uneven gaps, or gaps with other damage, are worth a closer look, and we will tell you what is normal.
Often, yes. Click-lock planks can sometimes be removed and replaced if they were installed with room to do so, and spare planks help with matching. We inspect the floor and let you know what is realistic.
